Mother's Day weekend

Grandpa and Grandma Grumpy flew down to spend the weekend with us. We kept them busy, they should sleep well tonight!

We spent most of Saturday out at the cottage enjoying the sun, and water. It was so beautiful out there, the only drawback being the ticks. A few of us got them but we caught them all before they had a chance to bite and get settled, thank goodness, yuck, have I mentioned how much I hate bugs! Today we went for a walk down to the lake(not the lake at the cottage, that is a real lake, over 100 ft deep and 80 miles ling, the little one by our house) with the Grumpys and Dave and Kaitlyn picked flowers for me. Delicious smelling flowers. Mmmmmm.

Spring blooms. Emily and Philip picked them for my mom for mother's day. The vase is something that I bought for my mom at a white elephant sale when I was in grade 3. At the time I thougt it was beautiful, then after a few years I thought it was ugly, now after quite a few more years I really really like it. Funny how things go around.

The Grandpas and E. Ethan had a bit of a rough day, he seems to overheat really easily and gets really upset, crying like crazy. We had to strip him down and dad had to take him outside into the breeze to cool down. Once outside he was happy, so it was just a matter of keeping him cool. Good thing we have air conditioning, I think this summer could otherwise be brutal.

Emily and I played baseball tennis at the top of the hill, exhausting!!!! All you do is run around chasing the ball and whacking it across the field to each other. The amount of times we actually connected racket to ball was about 1 out of every 50 hits. haaaaa....

Target practice......he needs a lot of practice. After this day Dave said he probably needs an automatic if he is ever to hit the blasted pop cans.
Kaitlyn loved the swing and even gave it a shot on her own, though after a few pushes she wanted down and wanted to go on with me. She will love it when we finally get her swing set built...hint, hint daddy.
Down by the lake there is this gnarly tree and ever since I was a kid I thought it would make such a cool fort under it, only problem is that it is on a hill.
Playing with Grandpa and Grandma. The kids had a great weekend with them and didn't even play strange. They (babes) are both sleeping soundly now, I think they tuckered each other out...well I am beat to, Good night! Happy belated Mother's day to all you great mommy's out there, I hope your weekends all rocked!

Busy weekend for the family! I loved your cabin photos! Having a retreat like the lake is an amazing luxury, isn't it!? We are so blessed to have grown up that way and I am so happy that you brought your little ones home here to enjoy it throughout their childhood!

I am impressed and jealous that you can fit your bum in a baby chair.
