Kaitlyn Visits Santa

I thought I would post some more of Kaitlyn's firsts. I forgot to put them on the last post so here we go....

On november 29th Anna took Kaitlyn to see Santa Claus at St. Albert Centre. She did not cry but she didn't really smile either. Here is her picture.

On December 1st, we decorated our tree. Kaitlyn sat in her chair as Anna and I listened to Christmas carols and put the decorations on our tree. Oh and Kaitlyn did help out a bit.

I belive I mentioned before, but we got Kaitlyn a stocking that says , "My First Christmas ". It even has a spot for her picture. Wait why bother explaining it, here is a picture.

We will see you all soon! And to those that we don't see this holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wishing you all the best in 2006!

Please come back and visit us soon!

Happy 4 month Birthday!

Well, today is the 15 th of December and Kaitlyn is officially 4 months old. Time sure has gone by so fast. We have enjoyed every minute of it and I know Anna would definitely want time to slow down a little.
Anna went to weigh Kaitlyn on Dec 13. Kaitlyn is 24 and 3/4's of an inch, horizontally. (Soon to be tall). She now weighs 14 lbs and 12 oz. She has been talking up a storm, as well. She has her own little language and it is so cute, we just love to sit around and talk to her, gee... I hope she understands what we are saying. She has really been drooling a lot lately as well. Kailtyn is going to be teething pretty soon. If you watch her for a while she will start gumming her
tongue, it really is very cute. She also will suck and drool on anything she comes in contact with. She will pull her blanket and toys to her mouth and suck on them. I can't imagine how good they may taste, but she seems to like them.

Kaitlyn just seems to grow every day. She likes to grab her hands and will play koi with you if you get her smiling and happy. She is such a sweetheart. She has an exersaucer and she just loves to sit in it and play with her toys. She can actually move herself around in it by using her feet. I think at this rate she will be walking before she crawls.

December Eleventh was decorate the tree day in Calgary, at my parents house. We took Kailtyn down to visit with family. We all had a great time and it was wonderful to introduce Kaitlyn to this annual tradition. Here is a picture of Kaitlyn and me holding the centerpiece of my mother's tree. The Poinsettia that I made in....um... you know , she says it a million times and I have forgotten. Maybe she can leave a comment regarding it.
It is getting very close to Christmas and I know that we will be seeing all our family soon. We look forward to spending time together with family and friends, and celebrating the Lord's birth with Kaitlyn for the first time.

God bless, and remember to please look HERE.

Kaitlyn The Eskimos Fan !!

As you can see, Kaitlyn was cheering for the Eskimos to win the Grey Cup. And they did, what a fantastic game and what a wonderful fan.

Well over the last week we have taken Kaitlyn car shopping and to Regina. We haven't bought a car but we did have fun in Regina.

November 27 was not only Grey Cup Sunday, but it was Judy Clark's 50th birthday. That's right 50, I was shocked myself, she doesn't look a day over 49. Anna had planned a surprise party for her mother on the Saturday and we actually drove down there as a surprise to her as well. You should have seen her face when we standing at the door, talk about priceless. So for the weekend we visited with Anna's family. On Saturday the woman had an afternoon tea for Judy's birthday and they guys went to look at new vehicles. On Sunday we drove Home and believe it or not, Kaitlyn slept the whole ride home, less an hour for feeds. She was so tuckered out from all the excitement of the weekend. Everybody seems to love Kaitlyn, but then if you look at her, how could you not. We didn't actually watch the Grey Cup...yet. I did record it and I will watch it, however we did listen to it on the way home. Talk about tense. WOW. Congratulations Esks!! Happy Birthday again Judy!

I will let you go for now, but we will return with more updates after a message from our sponsor.......FLICKR.

Welcome Back!

It has been a while, for that I am sorry. The Last 3 weeks have been quite a busy time.

On November 1st, Kailtyn, Mommy and I watched Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. So far she has watched 5 of the 6 films. I doubt she will remember but it was fun to watch the movies with her.
On November 5th, we took Kaitlyn to Lacombe to visit her Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Anderson. Grandma and Grandpa Anderson from Calgary came to visit as well and they brought along Kaitlyn's bratty uncles, Tubbs and Castillo. It was nice to see everyone and we had a wonderful time.

On November 8th, we took Kaitlyn to the Clinic to receive her first set of shots. Daddy had to hold her as mommy could not. Kailtyn and mommy both cried when Kaitlyn received the shots. Soon after the shots were done, mommy calmed down Kaitlyn and she then went to sleep. Kailtyn handled her shots so well. She was a little fussy for the next couple of days but there was no reaction to the shots. We were really worried about the shots, apparently there is this whole debate over if the are good or bad and that they may cause Autism and other things. The Lord watched over Kaitlyn and she seems to be perfectly fine now.

On November 12th, we took Kailtyn out to Spruce grove. We went and saw my Aunt Margie and cousin Laura. After visiting for an hour we came home. Kaitlyn and Mommy helped Daddy decorate the house with Christmas lights. She was so cute all bundled up. To see a couple picture please check out the link at the end of this post.

On November 16, Anna took Kaitlyn for her 3 month check up. Kaitlyn weighs 13lbs, 12oz, and she is 24.2 inches horizontally. She is starting to play with her toys more often. She is reaching out to hit them all the time. Just the other day she reached out and grabbed her little bug, that lives on her car seat, and held onto it for quite a while.

Kailtyn is talking...well at least mommy interprets it that way. Mommy starts every day off by playing and talking to Kaitlyn. Mommy will say "Hi Kaitlyn" and Kaitlyn responds with what appears to sound as "Hi". When she gets her diaper changed, she just loves to watch her 3 bear mobile. We turn it on and she watches it go all the way around, and kicks and talks to it, she just gets so excited. Apparently she also says "Hi" to the bears.

Enjoy the new

Talk to you again soon!

Kaitlyn's First Halloween

As you all know, Kaitlyn's first Halloween was yesterday. She went as a little ghost. She looked so cute, and was the hit of night, at least with us she was. Anna took her out to a couple of the neighbour's places. A warm thanks to Brian and Rose (surrogate Grandparents + Next door neighbour's) for taking Kaitlyn's first 'Trick or Treat' Picture.
As you can see, I was right, she was so cute. They went to a few houses and Kaitlyn got her own little bag of candy. She is still too young, so apparently mother's plan was to collect the candy for daddy. However I am sure that mommy will have her share as well. For the rest of the night, Kailtyn sat with me at the front door. We handed out candy to all the kids that came by. She was talking and and smiling and just having a alot of fun. Here are some more pictures of Kaitlyn in her ghost costume. Please enjoy.

Kaitlyn @ Eleven Weeks

We are back, but not in black! Kaitlyn is 11 weeks old! Wow it feels like she has been with us for almost 3 months. Oh... I guess that would be 11 weeks. Just a little joke to ease the tension.

Those pictures are of Kaitlyn and her little friend, Avery. She is ten days older than Kaitlyn. They met in Regina during Thanksgiving weekend. Avery is Barrie and Lesley Clark's third child. Barrie is Doug's(Anna's Dad),first Cousin.

She is so happy, most of the time. She just smiles a lot, and it looks so cute. Every morning is the same, Kailtyn wakes up and smiles and talks, well not really, more like GAH;KAY;MGAY;MKAY;DAA and similar words. I am trying to get her to say DADA, it's only a matter of days...well ok maybe months, but I am trying. She had her first giggle On Oct 28, saying AH.AH.AH, while we were in the kitchen making supper, talk about a suprise.

Kaitlyn went to church for the first time, on Oct 23. She was awake the whole time. Anna had to leave for awhile and feed her, but that's alright, there's no better time to teach her about the Lord.

Anna went to weigh Kaitlyn today, she weighs 13 lbs 3/4 oz. Kaitlyn is 23 1/4 inches long. I would say tall, but she really can't stand yet. Maybe the proper term is, 23 1/4 inches horizontally, or maybe I am just Babbling.

Well it has been a busy week and it gets even better, you get another post tomorrow Nov 1. That's right, Kaitlyn's first Halloween! She looked so cute in her little .... oh wait, I don't want to spoil the suprise. In the mean time, please take a look at Kaitlyn's new PICTURES!

Items of interest

There will be a new post On Oct 31. However I wanted to point out a couple of things.

One is that Anna had taken an old chandelier from her brother Philip's room and decorated it with beads and fake gem stones and we put it up in Kaitlyn's room.

While we were in Regina for Thanksgiving, we received a little dog that has been a wonderful addition to our family. We named him Patrick Lamont the 3rd, or Patches for short. Patches was given to us by Charles and Jackie, who have 3 kids of their own, and are expecting their fourth.
Coming up with Patrick's name was quite the effort, however Anna's eldest brother Paul helped out. You will see by the picture that he is Green, Yellow and has some patches, well 3 to be exact.
Green: Patrick as in St Patrick of the Irish.
Yellow: Lamont as in Lime/Lemon.

the 3rd: three patches.

As most of you may know, Kaitlyn has her own fish tank.It is a little tank, at only ten gallons. The week after she was born we went and bought 4 molly's for her tank. Three weeks ago Anna noticed a little baby fish swimming in the tank. She put the fish in a little breeder tank, and we have watched it grow. On Saturday Oct 29th we noticed more little fish. So we put them in the breeder and tank, and took out the first baby fish, just to be on the safe side. We now have 25 fish. I don't know what we are going to do with them. We do have 2 other tanks, so maybe we will end up stocking them up or maybe give them away to a pet store.

More in a while.....

Kaitlyn...All smiles!

Kaitlyn is 9 weeks old as of Oct 17. She sure has aged. This week we didn't really do too much. Anna went and bought a Play Gym for Kailtyn. It is pretty cool. It has lights and plays music. It has all sorts of things for Kaitlyn to look at and play with when she is older. Kaitlyn has out-grown all her newborn clothes and has almost out-grown her 3 months clothes. She is pretty big. The last time she was weighed was when she was 7 weeks old and she weighed 11 lbs 4 oz. Kailtyn is really starting to develop a personality. She is smiling quite a bit now, and she is always looking around trying to find interesting things to look at. Kaitlyn is getting very good at following movements with her eyes, at least until she gets bored. She has been such a gem lately however she is starting to cry more, but not too much. Kaitlyn was supposed to get her shots on Saturday, Oct 15, however she has a cold, that she got from me, and we have postponed her shots until November. I have added more pictures and will keep you up to date soon. PICTURES!

Kaitlyn's First Thanksgiving!!

Take a Look at the Latest Pictures of Kaitlyn Here!

Well Kaitlyn is now 8 weeks old, she has changed so much, it amazing just looking as the changes since the first pictures of her that we took. Just think how it will affect us in 5 or 10 years. Well, family + Friends in Edmonton hosted a baby shower for Anna on Oct 3rd. Thank you all for organizing and attending, we appreciate everything. Thank you for all the wonderful gifts and love. We are truly blessed to have such loving friends and family.

This past weekend was Thanks-giving. Anna and I took Kaitlyn to Regina to visit with her family as most had yet to see Kaitlyn up close. We drove down on Thursday night after I was done work. It was a long drive, however Kaitlyn was so good. The Drive was looking so good when we had to stop in Vegreville, which is only an hour out of Edmonton, in a 7.5 hour drive. Anna fed Kaitlyn, changed her and off we were. We stopped in Lloydminster (2 hours out of Edmonton), for supper. We ended up being there for over an hour. The rest of the trip was smooth. Kaitlyn was so good. She pretty much slept the rest of the way to Regina.

We had a great time in Regina, Anna's family just loves Kaitlyn. Nanna + Gramps Picard also flew to Regina from Toronto. It was very nice to see them again. We had turkey dinner on Friday night, it was very good and we had ham on Saturday night, which also was good, and then we had leftovers, which were good as well. Kaitlyn was just a little princess, however I didn't really see her that much as everyone was hogging her. I believe that everyone had a wonderful time, I know we did. We came back on Monday, which was rather unfortunate as I missed the Eskimos game. That's alright, family is more important than football anyway, at least I think it is. Kaitlyn was so good during the drive. She slept a lot and only had to be changed twice. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful baby that doesn't cry a lot or fuss a lot. She has her moments but for the best part she is wonderful.

Kaitlyn is 6 weeks old

Well today is the 27th of September, and it has a been a while but Kaitlyn is back. On Sept 26 kaitlyn had her sixth week doctors appointment. She now weighs 10lbs 11oz. and she is 22 inches long. Mom and dad are doing good, however there has been quite a long adjustment period, hopefully we will get used to it before Kaitlyn moves out and gets married. Wow that seems like such a long way away. We both love her so much, she is our precious little girl and she is so beautiful. Kaitlyn is starting to hold her head up more and is always looking around to see what is going on. Her eyes haven't lightened or Darkened yet, they are still a greyish blue but apparently it may take up to 6 months before her eyes change to their actual colour. If you want to check out the latest pictures please go to them now. I have also uploaded some new videos that you can get here.

Kaitlyn is so precious and beautiful, I feel like I have said that before. Everyday she looks more and more grown up. She has already out grown so many of her clothes. For the most part she is sleeping through the night, with us only having to get about twice, for feeding and a diaper change. She also appears to be close to smiling for real. I'm pretty sure that they are not all gas, but you never know. She just seems so happy and I know we are so happy to have her around. I also think she looks ready to walk. Well maybe I am jumping the gun a bit, but she is so cute. Bye for now.

Kaitlyn is 4 weeks old!

Has it really been 4 weeks already. It seems like only yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. Well not really but wow the time sure has gone by. During this last week we have seen a big change in kaitlyn, and I mean big. She has really gained some weight. As you will recall she 7lbs 4 oz, when she was born. Anna weighed her today and she is now 9lbs 8oz. She is so big, of course I think she has only grown about one inch. Grandma and Grandpa Anderson came to visit her along, with my mom and step dad on Saturday. I believe they had a good time, everyone took there turns holding Kaitlyn, so if you want to check out her new photo's, please go to "All the Pictures", here!

Kaitlyn is Beautiful

Well it has been another week and it feels like a month. Kaitlyn is well and healthy. She is so special. Mommy and Daddy are well also. It was Daddy's birthday this past week and he celebrated in style with family and of course his 2 girls. This past week Anna's sister Katie came to visit, it appeared that she enjoyed spending time with Kaitlyn, I mean how could you not. We have finalized plans to go to Regina for thanksgiving. I'm sure we will be quite busy, visiting all of Anna's family and friends. I hope to get down to Calgary soon, but most of my family has already come to see Kaitlyn. Well nothing too big happened this week, I mean what could happen with a baby that sleeps, eats, poops, sleeps, eats...you get the picture. Anna says that Kaitlyn has changed soo much, and that she getting so grown up, i see the change, but grown up?? not yet. She has packed on some weight which is good, i think Anna will got the doctor and weigh her this week. Anna thinks she is pushing 9 lbs but I don't think she is that heavy. Anna took Kailyn to the Doctor on Sept 2 as she thought Kaitlyn had a cold but it was nothing. Thats all there really is to say. Thank you again everyone for all your blessings and gifts and love. Kaitlyn is so special and we are so thankful that God has blessed us with a Lovely daughter and such loving friends and family.

13 Days Old!

Well it has been another week and all is well. Kaitlyn is now 13 days old and she is just priceless. It is now Sunday and Anna's mother has gone back to Regina with Philip and Emily. Thank you for comming down and helping, we truly appreciate it. A couple days ago Kaitlyn's cord fell off. Her belly button was smelly and infected. Anna went to the Med centre and got some ointment and now all is good. She such a beautiful little girl. She is feeding regularly now, by that i mean every 2 hours. I am getting sleep during the week, mainly because I could sleep through a nuclear bomb as well as the fact that I work during, and Anna has decided that she will let me sleep, which is very nice of her. Next Saturday is my birthday and my mom and stepfather, and my grandma are coming to visit, the baby of course. As well as Anna's oldest sister Katie is visiting this week, she will be arriving on tuesday and going home on Saturday.

Anna is healthy and good, she has been cathing up on her rest this weekend, and of course baby Kaitlyn is Fantabulous. Check here if you want to see some more pictures._KAITLYN_

Tuesday Aug 23 was mine and Anna's 2nd anniversary and we went out for supper to Rick's grill, using our left over gift certificates from last year. We took Kaitlyn with us and she slept the whole time. The 2nd anniversary is cotton, and I decided to just get Anna a card as she had bought 3 new shirts on the weekend. However she made me shirt. She bought a shirt from the mall and with paint put her hand print and Kaitlyn's footprint. It is sooo special and sweet. You can see it some of the pictures we have posted.

Well i must go know, we are going for a walk, but I will post soon I promise, it is alot more quiet around here.

Welcome Home Kaitlyn!

Well this is a little late, but on August 16, we brought little Kaitlyn home. She is so beautiful and precious. Everything has gone well over the first 5 days and we are just now getting back to a normal schedule. The baby has been sleeping for alot the last 2 days, but that is due to a combination of Anna's milk coming in and a slight case of Jaundice. All is good as it appears her Jaundice is going away. Did I mention how cute she is. We love her so much and we are so grateful to everyone that has helped us. The only way I can think to repay you is to give you more pictures, so why don't you go HERE , for more. Anna's mother has been down since thursday with Emily and Phillip, her 2 youngest, to help out. Again thank you everyone! I will try to update this more often, so please stay tuned.

Arrival of: Kaitlyn Taylor McLean

**This was edited as we changed the name of the baby!**
The baby is here! At 2:00 am on Aug 15 Anna's water broke. We then arrived at the hospital @ 3:20 am. Anna was in labour immediately, however her contractions were still about 5 - 10 min apart. During the course of the morning, her contractions got harder and harder, especially on her lower back, as the baby was facing her back and of course was puting all sorts of pressure on her spin and pelvis. @ 12:30 pm on Aug 15, we made the decision to have the epidural + to then be induced as she was still only 3 cm dilated and her contractions were still about 4 min apart. She was fully dilated by 3:24 pm and then we started the pushing. At 4:34 Anna gave birth to happy and healthy baby girl. Kaitlyn Taylor Mclean was 7 lbs 4 oz and 21 inches long. It is a good thing she was early, otherwise she may have been a 10 lb baby. This is a just a quick note but here are some of baby Kaitlyn's first pictures.

Baby Room Done but no Baby..yet.

Well it is now 36 weeks and we have finished the baby room. Still no baby, but at least if it is born now, we do not have to go to Edmonton. Not much news to give. Anna + the baby are healthy and fine. She is done work now and is just waiting. We are working on putting a fish tank in the babies room, that we got as a gift from Anna's friend Dana. One friday Anna went to a garage sale and bought a Swing + Exersaucer. Here are some pictures of the baby room, finished and furnished, except the fish tank. And don't worry as soon as anything happens, I will let you guys know.

Baby Update!

Well, another weekend and still no baby. We are quite happy however as it has given us time to finish the baby room. Also if Anna can hold on until at least August 12, then we can have the baby @ the Sturgeon General, which is alot better than going into the city. As I said before we have finished painting the Baby room. We are going to tuch up the trim on monday. Anna's boss's wife Ann, helped us out alot with the painting, and we a truly grateful. Thank you Ann. Tonight we will probably put the baseboards back on, but we need to clean the carpets before the furniture can be moved in. Well here is how the walls look, it really matches the bedding really well, however if it is a boy, I know I will be painting it again, so here's hoping that it is a girl. Actually it really doesn't matter as long as it is healthy.

Pictures of Anna, Dave and the Bab...er....Belly!

A couple of weeks ago Anna and I had some pictures taken of us. Anna's friend Dana took them for us with her camera. Here is a little sample, however if you want to see more then please click HERE.

The Baby will be arriving soon!

Well we spent Friday night in the hospital, July 29, so that they could monitor Anna. Apparently she was having contractions and her Cervix has thinned out to only 2 cm, should be about 4 cm this early in the game. We went back home Saturday morning, as everything slowed down and there was no change to her Cervix. She is on bed rest and is not allowed to do much of anything. I was kind've thinking that the baby was going to be born this weekend, but it is better that it isn't as the room is not ready. Also if the baby is born this early then it will have to stay in an incubator for one week as Anna is only 35 weeks along. On Monday Aug 1, which is a holiday, we went and got our play pen as well as our bedding for the crib came in from Calgary. I started painting the baby room....I really do hope it is a girl.

Here is the room in progress, it is hard to see but it is like a lilac purple, and will have green stripes.

Here is a picture of what
the bedding looks like, it will really match the walls.

Baby may be coming sooner than expected!

At approximately 11:30 am on July 29th, Anna passed her mucus plug. This means that her water could break at any time and that the baby will most certainly be born sooner than the due date of September 8, 2005. She is right now under observation at the hospital to see if labour is starting. The baby is said to be healthy and roughly 6 pounds, which means if born this weekend then our baby will be put into an incubator for about one week as it will not be able to maintain its body temperature. Anna and I both hope that the baby can wait about a week as we still have to finish the nursery. Stay tuned for more posts on this exciting turn of events.

Our babies first Picture!

On April 14th, Anna's 19 week, we went to have the Ultra-sound done. This is the first time that we have seen the baby. We were told that there is a 70% chance it is a girl. I sure hope so, otherwise our son will be wearing a lot of pink, and may look funny in his purple and green room, tucked into his purple and green bedding, but more on that in the future.

So far everyone is healthy, baby moves a lot, which is good. I was concerned that the baby looked like an Alien from one of those James Cameron + Ridley Scott Franchises...ya know, ALIEN. However I was quickly informed by my wife that it looks like a baby. Well she kind've agreed that it looked like an Alien.
