Teeth....

Poor little Ethan is teething so badly. He has his two lower centrals already but he is working on four uppers now. His rt lateral broke through the other day and today his left central broke through. I have never seen him so miserable! Kaitlyn was never fazed with teething and I wouldn't know she cut one till I felt it. However Ethan is the opposite and it is a brutal long miserable process for him. To top it all off he has been under the weather with a cold and has boogers in his eyes, poor little man.

We ventured out of the house today to do some running around and met up with Dave for lunch at -where else- Wendy's. We even ventured into the 'hood' to see my cousins at their shop. A rather scary place to go. I hadn't remembered it being that bad, but my heart was racing as we walked from the truck to the shop. The people on the street (sitting, standing, walking and slouched in cars) just look at you with a blank stare, a sad stare, the kind that follows you. Erie. I wish I could read their thoughts. Homes with lawns never mowed, roofs with tarps on them, furniture and junk rotting in yards and boarded and smashed windows. What makes me sad is knowing that a huge portion of this city is hood, like over half. And it is only getting worse. I don't see it every day and forget that other side of the coin. Makes a heart hurt! A really sad deep kind of hurt.

Back on the home front...
Kaitlyn is bouncing back to her normal self. Can you tell?
And here she is in her bed-not having her nap-reading to her Dora's.

Most striking to me about life on 5th (and surrounding areas) is the hopelessness. Venture over there in another few weeks and I'll probably be there. =) -S

My Sister made sure to show us both the good and the bad in your City. We have it here too, fear not, but in a bigger city it is much easier to hide it or tuck it away. Unfortunately when you do that you don't have the chance to reach out and make a difference.

Teething is just a monster!

The best way to get thru it is alcohol! No...not for the baby, but for you!
